May 24, 2003Los Angeles-based MY RUIN, led by the ever-colorful Tairrie B, have inked a deal with Century Media Records. The group's first release through the label will be a four-song EP, "The Shape Of Things To Come", due in August. A full-length album, titled "The Horror Of Beauty", will follow in October.
Among the song titles set to appear on the EP and album are the following:

02. Spitfire
03. Radio Silence
04. Made To Measure
05. Grotesque
06. Burn The Witch
07. 10 Minutes To Hollywood
08. American Psycho
09. Nazimova
10. Bravenet
11. Weightless
12. Stinkface
13. Hot In The House Of God
14. Unmanageable
15. Get Pretty
In addition, the band have recorded covers of PJ HARVEY's "Rid Of Me" and THE PLASMATICS' "Sex Junkie" for use as bonus tracks or various B-sides to be released in conjunction with the upcoming album.
In other news, Tairrie has issued a statement slamming former label Snapper Music for releasing "Ruined & Recalled", a two-CD collection of previously-available material.
Says Ms. B, "MY RUIN has nothing to do whatsoever with the release of 'Ruined & Recalled'. This is once again another attempt by our former record label in the UK to milk our band and our kick ass fans of money. (you see..they never pay us!!!!!) They can suck it.... and we would appreciate it if everyone who reads this would pass the word on to not purchase this record. It is simply a re-issue of both 'Speak & Destroy' and 'A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish'. It is basically exactly what they did to us last year when they released the double CD called 'Blasphemous Girl' which had songs off both albums plus our live record. We are not about reliving our past every year but obviously Snapper Music can't seem to let us go so they keep reinventing ways to release the same records they never promoted properly in the first place!!! So please take note: MY RUIN do not support this release and ask you to kindly just ignore it."
